Brown Bag Lunch: The Impact of Industry 4.0 in social development

Join Beno Juarez and Fab@CIC for a brown bag lunch to learn about and discuss digital manufacturing, also known as Industry 4.0, an important and motivating aspect of digital fabrication's impact on the world. Beno will present the theoretical and technological underpinnings of this next step in our industrial development arc, using examples of communities in Latin America that are moving from traditional manufacturing pratices to digital manufacturing. Together, we'll discuss the impacts on society and explore the tools for changing our industrial paradigm and moving towards Industry 4.0. Beno Juarez is the founder of the first fablab in Latin America, FabLab Lima, and the Latin America Fablab Network (FabLaT) and founder and director of Floating FabLab Amazon, winner of the National Eco-Efficiency Award (Peru 2017) and selected by the UN as "the World's most disruptive project on Sustainable Manufacturing and Climate Change (Summit Solutions, UN 2015). Please bring your lunch!
