“Where would we be without these incomparable dreamers?” The Chameleon Arts Ensemble’s April chamber music program titled “darers and dreamers,” addresses this question with works by four trail-blazing composers who pushed the art form forward and broke with convention to make music modern. It includes Beethoven’s fiery Piano Trio in D Major, Op. 70, No. 1 “Ghost;” Debussy’s Sonata for flute, viola, and harp; Bartok’s folk-inspired Contrasts for clarinet, violin, and piano; and Schoenberg’s Phantasy for violin & piano, Op. 47. Rounding out the program, David Bruce continues to dream with his futuristic fantasy, Steampunk.
