Chameleon Arts Ensemble performs Tchaikovsky's Souvenir de Florence

The Chameleon Arts Ensemble resumes its 20th anniversary chamber music series with a program of musical postcards titled “immortal notes and Tuscan air.” Italian lyricism meets Russian passion in Tchaikovsky’s affectionate homage to a country and city he loved, Souvenir de Florence for string sextet, Op. 70. Libby Larsen explores the flow of time and color by way of Georgia O’Keeffe’s evocative landscapes with Black Birds, Red Hills for clarinet, viola, and piano. Samuel Barber’s classic, Summer Music for wind quintet, evokes lazy days and sounds of the season, and warmth and sunlight permeate Saint-Saëns’ glittering F Major Piano Trio.
