I Dream: Boston

I Dream: Boston

I Dream: Boston 2018 Culminating Performance will feature devised original works created and performed by young people from Fenway High School. The performances will include storytelling based in social justice issues that are important to these young theatre makers. Over the course of the 2017/18 school year, I Dream students have engaged in a curriculum designed by Emerson College Artist in Residence Daniel Beaty and I Dream: Boston staff. This residency was facilitated by local teaching artists Jacqui Parker, Kinson Theodoris and therapeutic professional Myisha Rodrigues, and supported by classroom teacher Kandice Sumner. Dream is a nationally recognized youth leadership and social justice initiative created by Daniel Beaty that uses the tools of arts, immersive group exercises, and trauma recovery to support young people to rewrite the story of race and class inequity in America, and create social justice projects to make that new story reality.
