TeaTalk: Rwanda's High Tourism Boom Since The 1994 Genocide at CIC Boston

Craving more than “small talk” on a regular basis? Come and actively engage in stimulating conversation centered around important cultural topics, over a cup of tea at CIC Boston.

This month’s topic for conversation explores the recent tourism boom in Rwanda and rapid economic growth in recent years since the country’s devastating 1994 Genocide. Rwanda has become a luxury tourist destination and boasts an impressive entrepreneurship spirit with a boom in businesses supporting the local attractions including national parks and endangered silverback mountain gorillas. Chat with Rwandan student Magnifique Mukndwa from her personal experience growing up in Rwanda, and Lauren LeBlanc, who works for Komera, a girls’ education and empowerment program in Rwanda.
