The Walk to End Elder Isolation

The Walk to End Elder Isolation

The Walk to End Elder Isolation: Walk With Us, Walk For Them FriendshipWorks, whose mission is to reduce social isolation, enhance quality of life, and preserve the dignity of older adults in Boston and Brookline, will hold its 3rd annual walk on Sunday, May 20 at 10 am. The walk will take place in Jamaica Plain, starting and ending at Rogerson House, with a route around beautiful Jamaica Pond and parts of the Emerald Necklace. By forming or joining a walk team with family, friends, and colleagues (even your dog!), you will connect with hundreds of other participants to raise awareness of the growing epidemic of elder isolation and loneliness. You will also raise critical funds to help FriendshipWorks provide the necessary volunteer resources that can offer friendship and meaningful connections for this often-overlooked population. Make the day extra special by walking in memory or honor of an important elder in your life.
