Avery Bar at The Ritz-Carlton, Boston invites guests to sit by a cozy, elevated marble fireplace while warming up with a selection of delicious sweets and pastries along with a steaming, decadent cup of hot cocoa. A sweet extension of Avery Bar, Avery Bar Chocolat returns this season: Saturday, November 29th and will continue to welcome guests, young and old alike, on weekends through the holidays.
HOW:
Whether ice-skating on the Boston Common Frog Pond nearby, enjoying a performance of Boston Ballet’s “The Nutcracker” at Citizens Bank Opera House just across the street, or in the area after holiday shopping, Avery Bar Chocolat welcomes guests to warm up this holiday season with a selection of hot cocoas and sweet treats paired to make your hot chocolate “perfectly nice” or “lusciously naughty.”
Guests can order a cup of cocoa or hot chocolate latte table-side, where they can top each with vanilla marshmallows or fresh whipped cream. Children will be served a lighter, more traditional cocoa while adults will be offered a richer, concentrated cocoa which they can make “naughty” by adding their favorite spirit or cordial, for an additional charge. Still feeling slightly naughty? Our Avery Bar Mixologist, Joel Atlas, is curating a holiday chocolate-infused cocktail menu that features a Winter Julep, Cherry Cordial and a Mocha Martini for adults to enjoy while visiting Avery Bar’s winter pop-up.

According to Pastry Chef Cox, “My favorite desserts always center on chocolate. Chocolate is so versatile—it allows me to play with textures, temperatures and artistic presentations. I truly enjoy the challenge of making something both visually striking and undeniably delicious. Our new chocolate buffet this year features contemporary yet comforting sweets. It offers classic chocolate flavors but reinterprets them with modern, elevated pastry techniques. My personal goal is for every guest joining us this season to not just enjoy a delicious dessert or two, but to leave with lasting, fond memories of a grand Ritz-Carlton holiday.”
