WINTER STREET ACTIVATION PROPOSALS: CITY RFP ISSUED
The City of Boston is seeking a firm to plan and organize a tactical design, program, and management for block activation along Winter Street and up to ten (10) locations in Boston neighborhoods. This work will build on Boston Design Vision principles by enhancing public space, improving safety and pedestrian experiences, and fostering a sense of place and joy for residents and visitors through temporary proofs-of-concept interventions. Application deadline: 12 pm, April 11.
MaKING SPACE FOR NEW CREATIVE ENTERPRISES IN DOWNTOWN: CALL FOR RFIS
The City of Boston and the DBA have unveiled a new effort to bring Boston’s creative enterprises to Downtown. This new effort aims to support the revitalization of the neighborhood by transforming vacant office and retail spaces into affordable, dynamic spaces for artistic production, performance, and community engagement. The Request for Information (RFI) is open to all interested parties, focusing on artists, creative professionals, cultural space operators, property owners, and developers. Proposed uses might include studio space for visual artists, recording studios, performance venues, or art galleries. Application deadline: 11:59 PM, April 18.
2025 DBA ARTS MARKET PROGRAM: CALL TO PARTICIPATE
We are pleased to invite you local artists to participate in our 2025 Arts Market program. Operating in Downtown Crossing on Summer Street Plaza between Macy’s and Roche Bros., the Arts Market will open Thursdays-Fridays from May 1-October 24. Located in the heart of the city, the Arts Market is an opportunity for artisans, crafts people, and local creative talent to sell their wares during the spring, summer and early fall seasons in Downtown Boston. Situated at the hub of the transit system and featuring a robust restaurant scene, numerous historic & cultural attractions, and a bustling business district, Downtown Crossing boasts the highest pedestrian traffic levels in New England.
