Join Embrace Boston for Embrace Massó ¡Con Salsa!: Ritmo y Sonido Block Party, a free outdoor celebration bringing together live music, dance, food, and community on Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 3–7 PM at Summer Street Plaza in Downtown Crossing.
This special Block Party Edition marks a new chapter for Embrace, as the organization welcomes its neighbors into the district that is now home to its first permanent building. As Embrace establishes its home in Downtown Crossing, it is celebrating this milestone by creating a joyful public gathering where music, culture, and community come together.
To celebrate this moment, Embrace is proud to welcome legendary salsa orchestra El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico for a free public performance. Known as La Universidad de la Salsa, the iconic group has united generations around the world through the power of salsa music and continues to be a global ambassador of Puerto Rican culture.
The celebration will also feature performances by DJ ArmandoTheTruth and Johnny Giraldo of Salsa y Control, bringing together generations of artists and sounds rooted in Latin music and culture.
More than a concert, Embrace Massó ¡Con Salsa! is an invitation to Embrace’s neighbors, partners, and communities across Greater Boston to gather in a shared public space rooted in belonging. Inspired by the legacy of José Massó III and the countless Afro-Latino artists and culture bearers who have shaped Boston’s cultural landscape, the festival celebrates the power of arts and culture to transform places into communities and strangers into neighbors.
