Rise: A Story of Shipwreck and Hope
How do you weather the storms of life to get to the shores of peace?
Join the Theatre of Eternal Values youth ensemble as we present a 20-minute peace of street theatre designed to bring a moment of peace in the midst of a busy street. Loosely based on scenes from Shakespeare’s The Tempest, our play starts with a crew of sailors trying to survive a storm. When their boat gets shipwrecked and they wash up on a mysterious island, they must use their wisdom, courage, humor and friendship to find their way to inner peace, and rebuild their vessel. Featuring live music, choreography and giant puppets, this joyful, original piece is a free event, spreading love of the arts and positive energy to city streets. Accompanying each performance, there will be a free “meditation station” with yoga mats and seating, where audience members can rest and refresh before and following each show.
