Downtown Boston is stepping into spring with strong momentum.
Following a challenging winter, we’re seeing encouraging signs across the district from rising pedestrian activity to new investment, development, and cultural energy returning to our streets.

A key highlight: the proposed Exchange District, which would bring new historic designation and unlock powerful tax incentives to support building redevelopment and adaptive reuse. This has the potential to further drive vibrancy, economic activity, and long-term growth in Downtown.

By the numbers:
• Pedestrian activity continues to trend upward
• 14 new street-level businesses pending
• Bluebikes usage has surged significantly

With spring activations, outdoor programming, and continued investment on the horizon, Downtown Boston remains a dynamic center of activity, innovation, and community.

We’re excited for what’s ahead.
