BID Board Chairman's Statement on Proposed Medical Marijuana Dispensary at 21 Milk St.

Statement from BID Board Chairman Jack Spurr, President of A.W. Perry, on the proposed medical marijuana dispensary at 21 Milk St.

“The Downtown Boston Business Improvement District (BID) has received significant feedback from area residents, businesses, schools, non-profit organizations and property owners with concerns about the proposed medical marijuana dispensary at 21 Milk St. The input we’ve received from these neighborhood stakeholders makes clear that their opposition is not to medical marijuana itself or the legalization of marijuana more generally; rather, it is about the fact that issues in the surrounding area make 21 Milk St. an inappropriate place for a medical marijuana dispensary. In light of these concerns, we will continue to reach out to members of the Downtown Boston community in an ongoing dialogue on this issue and keep the community abreast of developments as we approach the rescheduled July 7th Zoning Board of Appeals hearing date.”
