August Bournonville's "La Sylphide" 

Elegance and enchantment. A romantic masterpiece, La Sylphide is soft, light, ethereal... and heartbreaking: the classic tale of a young Scotsman, who gives up everything for the love of a beautiful but unattainable woodland sprite, plays out in a setting of treacherous forest and magnificent castle. It is paired with Bournonville divertissments, a series of excerpts from his many beloved works; it offers rare gems, too little performed in the U.S.
